soft, sentimental, perfect airplane read (though i read it in one sitting in my room). reminds me that you make an impact in everyone's lives, even people you see crossing the street and don't even interact with.
i have an obsession with pompeii AND feminist revenge fiction. was rooting for my girl amara and her secret lover. raw.
unhinged spy thriller. WHAT IN THE HELL?! i blinked and 700 pages disappeared. still not over how cinematic it is. makes me wanna join The Division and assassinate crooks. LOL KIDDING!
boy did i cry. set in 70s alaska, it follows a family trying to survive the alaskan wilderness, violence, and trauma. it made me think about the lengths you go to for someone you love and how to endure every challenge that life throws at you. gave my ma a big hug afterwards.
somehow khaled hosseini has got a natural talent for making me cry. set in afghanistan, this book was so beautiful, yet so heavy. it's the kind of story that makes you stop and realize how much women have had to survive just to exist. mariam
i enjoyed the movie and i was geeking when i found out there was a book! i liked it a lot more than i thought i would. it's kind of badass and i enjoy the old west and dry humor. chef's kiss.
frankly, what the fuck? a man narrates his obsession with a 12 year old girl and tries to justify it. people who think this is a romance is disturbed. it was hard to read, although it's actually beautifully written. it's like a train wreck.
everyone in the world receives a package with a string inside that shows how long they'll live. this one made me think a lot about my mortality, and whether i'd actually open the package. i think i would, just to know how to spend my time. but then again, there's something beautiful about not knowing, isn't there?
a man plans to end his life and he goes back to his childhood home and sees his mom, who passed away years ago, and he gets one more day with her. it broke me in the quietest mitch albom way. it's about how we take the people who love us for granted, and sometimes we only understand them when it's too late..
you can tell i love mitch albom. this is about a group of shipwreck survivors who pull a man from the sea who claims to be god. people reach for meaning when everything else is gone and help doesn't always look the way you expect it to.
this was really sweet because it's about a woman inbetween life and death and she basically gets to test-drive every version of her life based on every decision she could have made.
guy wakes up alone in space, remembers he’s supposed to save the world, befriends an alien named rocky. rocky is adorable. we love rocky.
two people who've kinda given up on love accidentally find it on a long walk across england. it's a quick read and i laughed a few times i'm gonna be honest. it's a good reminder that sometimes connection isn't loud, it shows up as someone walking beside you, matching your pace.
basically a midwife finds a body in the ice and decides to solve the murder. it's based on the real-life diary notes of martha ballard, an 18th century midwife who literally documented thousands of daily details of her life. the author used those actual notes as the foundation for the novel. it was a page turner.
straight up dogshit. i don't know why people loved this book. even the sex in it wasn't that good. i wanted to give it a shot cause i'm a sucker for greek mythology and romance, but i couldn't understand the plot.
an alien sent to destroy a mathematical breakthrough ends up getting too attached to people. it was awesome and weirdly moving. definitely will read again

this one was so wholesome. marcellus, a giant pacific octopus living at the aquarium helps solve the disappearance of a boy. the way it was written was so beautiful, and i'll admit, i cried. it made me think how sometimes the world gives us connections we didn't think to have before.
this one was absolutely terrifying. it's about the manson murders and it was extremely detailed. after reading it, i had to double check that all the doors and windows were locked. i also had my dad walk behind me everytime i walk up the stairs at night.

this one was a pretty good read. it was a bit all over the place but i liked how it kept you guessing til the very end. i had no idea how it was going to end but it was a satisfying end, to say the least.
i genuinely thought it was going to be scary, but it's actually quite adorable. it had a happy ending, which is kinda off brand for stephen king
